Good to see you all here!

I will do my best to remember to update this site and blog consistently. I can see myself embedding YouTube videos here, as well as links to places where you can hear and buy my music. I also intend to talk about filkers I’ve met and their music, and I hope I can do them justice.

I picked up guitar for the first time almost four years ago (it’ll be four years in June). I started taking lessons with Blind Lemming Chiffon about two years later, and he introduced me to filk by commanding me to attend the June 2023 Festival of the Living Rooms (his creation). I participated in circles at that festival and the one in September, gave a short concert at the December 2023 Festival (a setlist I called “Sad Songs by Other People”), and then made a lot of friends at that festival. A month or so later I was doing my first FAWM, then going to my first live con (Consonance), and I’ve never looked back since.

Even so, I’m still a fairly new filker. (For those wondering, “new” means about 16 months, at this point, since I wrote my first filk song that wasn’t a TTTO.) As of today I’ve written 100 songs of my own as well as maybe 7-8 parodies/TTTOs. I’ve also given concerts at three live cons and several online cons, and I have more scheduled in the near future. I think that’s pretty good, and I want to keep that trend going.

I’ve participated in two FAWMs and one 50/90 so far. I plan to keep going back to these because they really motivate me to write more songs, even if some of the songs aren’t great. I’m a member of a local songwriter’s workshop that meets once a month; I make it to all the online Zoom filks I can manage, and I’m working on my second album.

I’m also chuffed to announce that I will be the Interfilk Guest for Filk Ontario in April 2026 (assuming international border crossings are still possible at that point).

Finally, if you don’t know my husband and creative partner, Cozy Joe, you really should. You can find his main website here.

It’s good to meet you all!
